Physiotherapist – Andrew Huynh

Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy)

Background

Andrew is the head physio and director of ESPR Therapy & Training. He has a passion for building resilience and strength in his clients to allow them to return to pre-injury activities and achieve their physical goals.

Andrew completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney. He has worked in both public and private sectors as well as within an elite NPL 1 football club where he was involved in modifying training loads and integrating rehab programs to help athletes return to sport.

Over the years he has developed an interest in strength and conditioning which led him to complete an internship at one of Sydney’s most renowned athlete development gyms – Ethos Performance. From this he learnt to program training blocks to improve the athletes specific movement qualities to enhance their sporting performance.

Andrew has also completed further study in pain science and dry needling which has allowed him to understand the complexity of chronic pain syndromes and ultimately minimise symptoms.

Physiotherapist – Canis Chan

Background

 Canis is a dedicated physiotherapist at ESPR Therapy & Training. Born and raised in Hong Kong, he can fluently conduct sessions in Cantonese and Mandarin. His journey into physiotherapy culminated in a degree from the University of Sydney in 2023.

From there, Canis had placements in renowned hospitals like Royal North Shore Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as well as private sectors, refining his patient care expertise covering neurological, musculoskeletal and cardiopulmonary conditions.  

Canis’ particular areas of focus consist of:

1. Acute sports and work-related injuries

    • Soft tissue injury management (muscle strain, ligament tear, etc.)
    • Return-to-sports rehabilitation program
    • Return-to-work rehabilitation program

2. Chronic cardiopulmonary and musculoskeletal conditions

    • Chronic pulmonary conditions management (COPD, bronchiectasis, etc.)
    • Persistent lower back and neck pain 
    • Persistent tendinopathies (tennis elbow, Achilles tendon, etc.)

 

Canis is available every Monday.
